The Missouri Plant Science Center is a shared-use facility where researchers work alongside business and industry experts, in a multidisciplinary environment. The setting consists of office space with common business center amenities, shared laboratory space equipped with state-of-the-art analytical and research instrumentation, shared pilot processing facilities and equipment, a small-scale milling plant, and the infrastructure and support services necessary for start-up ventures to graduate into the adjacent 80-acre Business and Technology Park.

Wet & Dry Labs
The shared lab space contributes to the entrepreneurial environment and promotes project collaboration and information sharing between multi-disciplinary teams. Access to state-of-the-art instrumentation, without incurring the upfront costs of the equipment allows start-up companies to concentrate resources toward product development and testing.
In addition to standard lab furnishings, specialty equipment is available for analytical product testing, as well as for discovery research such as cell culture, gene expression and protein analysis.
Pilot Production / Processing
The production area has been designed to demonstrate the application of lab-scale technology in real world, commercial applications. Specializing in low-fat soy flour, the MPSC has the latest technology to process soybeans and other plant materials without solvents to produce food-grade products. Other products include full fat soy flour, soy oil and soy hulls.
