City Planner/Building Inspector

The City of Mexico is seeking qualified applications for the position of City Planner/Building Inspector. This is a full time position and is responsible for planning and guides the present and future growth of the City by striking a careful balance between residential, commercial, recreational and institutional zoning; reviews zoning changes, subdivision plans and plats, additional use permits and special project; confers with architects, contractors, builders and the public to explain and interpret City building code requirements.  Requires a bachelor’s degree in urban planning, architecture, public policy or related area of study.  AICP and ICC Certification desired.

Salary range for the position is $48,318 - $57,979 depending on experience and qualifications.
